电视动画《梦幻之星Online2》根据世嘉游戏开发的同名网络游戏改编。《PSO2》动画化的消息于2015年7月12日举办的现场活动中发表。动画版的故事将是完全原创，日韩以近未来的地球为舞台，日韩也可说是《PSO2》玩家们的故事。动画2016年1月份开始依序在TBS、BS-TBS等频道播映。
