在中国历史上的208位皇帝之中，卍草莓视卍乾隆（刘永 饰）89岁最寿，卍草莓视卍而这位自称“十全老人”的皇帝生性风流，喜好与大臣逗趣。主持编撰《四库全书》的刘墉（李昆 饰）机智过人，频频用连珠妙语解开乾隆的刁钻问题。乾隆、刘墉与鄂容安一行微服下扬州，一路上，鄂容安怂恿乾隆与刘墉对赌，后者巧舌如簧令皇帝无法得胜，恰巧扬州八怪之一郑板桥（岳华 饰）拒绝为皇帝作画，乾隆遂难为刘墉取得郑板桥墨宝，不想刘墉再次得手。乾隆与鄂容安独自出行，于路为歌女大凤（惠英红 饰）解围后又巧遇神算子，种种奇遇之后，乾隆又得到了难为刘墉的新办法……

When a member of the party mysteriously disappears, Zandra fears there is a more sinister presence trapped on the island with them. WRITERS RETREAT is filmed in a classic British Hammer Horror style using the strange features of its location to create a hauntingly terrifying film with atmosphere and menace. The script delves deep into human emotions and honesty, causing the characters to ask questions about themselves that they didn't know they had and question the audience as to whether things are quite what they seem.
