中国某朝代的皇太子一次民间出巡，亚洲邂逅了一位民间女子，亚洲并生下一个女儿，但却适逢盗贼作乱，皇太子与母女俩失散多年。数年后皇太子已登基为皇帝，与女儿重逢后发觉女儿在民间流落多年，沾染了民间市井之气。皇帝决定将女儿重新教导成一个高贵的格格。但格格早已习惯自由自在的生活，她那顽皮捣蛋的可爱性格却为严肃乏味的皇宫带来了新气象，故事由此而起。
