回复 :『BAD FILM』は1995年に約1年間をかけて撮影されたものの、資金難のために未完成のままになっていた幻の映画だ。現在は使用されなくなったHi-8(8ミリビデオの高画質版)で撮影された150時間以上に及ぶ映像素材が本年再編集され、驚くべき作品が誕生した。映画のコンセプトは「香港返還の直前、20世紀末の東京・中央線で、沢山の人々が暴走し、愛が疾走する」。高円寺が中国人に乗っ取られつつあるという設定のもと、日本人自警団と外国人グループの抗争が中央線、新宿などを舞台に恐ろしく巨大なスケールで展開される。出演者の大半は、93年に園子温が結成したパフォーマンス集団「東京ガガガ」のメンバー。中央線の始発電車をまるごとジャックして撮影された両グループの激突、100人を超えるエキストラが動員された新宿アルタ前の大乱闘など、常識では考えられない場面が次々と展開し、見る者を圧倒する。園子温作品の持つありとあらゆる要素が凝縮された傑作と言えよう。
