根据“12•25”山东平邑石膏矿矿难真实事件改编的灾难题材电影，超高讲述了矿山救护队队长张毅（牟凤彬饰）带领救援队营救被困井下矿工，超高与身在地底200米深的4名矿工通过对讲遥相激励，在长达36天的救援里，以人民为中心，抢救生命、理解生命的感人故事。此次救援意义重大，这是我国首个“大口径钻孔救援”成功案例，也是亚洲首次全球第三个使用该项救援技术成功救援的国家，创造了世界矿难救援的奇迹。
