回复 :叙述一位英国绅士Anthony Ross 爵士为了寻找失踪多年的儿子，于是他筹组了一支探险队展开行动，他的儿子当初是去寻找北极一带火山谷一个传说中的古老维京人部落，结果从此音讯全无，心急如焚的父亲因此才想尽办法组织探险队进行搜寻任务，这支队伍包括一位美国籍的考古学家、一位法籍发明家、一位追踪者以及英国企业家等等，当他们逼近目的地的时候，却意外闯入一个被时间遗忘的失落世界！这世界里有仍过着十世纪生活的维京人、火山爆发、鲸鱼墓场…等等，在这一连串的冒险当中，面对希望秘密永远被埋藏的那一群维京人，探险队面临到很难全身而退的危险局面！

回复 :当年正处于双十年华的奥地利女星海蒂·拉玛（当时的艺名是海蒂·吉斯勒），在片中饰演一个嫁给老夫的少妻夏娃，因为得不到性的满足而偷恋陌生的青年骑士亚当，最后导致老公受不了而自杀。本片在第二届威尼斯影展中获得最佳导演奖，虽是一部公认的艺术电影，可是因片中有大量的女体裸露镜头，故曾在美国查禁。海蒂当时年少无知，听任导演摆布，配合演出了一些裸露和激情场面，包括湖中裸泳、林中裸奔、以及跟青年骑士亲热时的“狂喜”表情等，在1930年代显得相当大胆，幸而导演也用了很多象征式的描写，把影片拍得尽量高雅和诗情画意，而男女主角取名亚当与夏娃，喻意也明显不过了。此片捧红了海蒂，使她进军美国的电影界成为好莱坞巨星。
