该剧设定在1993年，欧美泰迪熊声名大噪的时期已经过去，欧美现在他和好基友、16岁的约翰·贝内特住在一起，后者来自波士顿的工薪家庭，和父母以及堂姐住一起。泰迪熊对约翰的影响可能不是最好的，但还是愿意冒着生命危险去帮助他的朋友和家人。
