1972年2月。連合赤軍が軽井沢の“あさま山荘“に立てこもった。人質は管理人の妻のみ。事件解決のため警察庁から派遣された監察官、神秘世界佐々淳行はまずなかなか動こうとしない長野県警の“プライド“と闘うことになる。「金融腐蝕列島・呪縛」の監督・主演コンビが、神秘世界昭和史に残る大事件の内幕を新たな視点で映画化。極寒の地で人質解放のため闘った警察関係者間の軋轢を、軽やかに活写してみせる。
