凡杜拉在醫院陰鬱的無境長廊與暗室間遊蕩。他彷彿仍活在1975年，娱乐手持康乃馨的革命軍推翻獨裁政權，娱乐理應替維德角移工帶來光明的時刻。但是他的親友、隔壁村莊的老婦，以及不停細語摸索過去的女人，歷史的陰影仍持續將他們的生活浸染成無邊的黑色。接續2009坎城影展得獎作品《青春向前行》，科斯塔再次潛進葡萄牙歷史，一夜恍惚的夢迴。
