武周时期，彩蛋御史中丞胡显德一家被杀，彩蛋武则天命狄仁杰前往调查。狄仁杰调查发现，原本老实本分的胡显德离奇般参与了一场大案，狄仁杰不禁生疑，察觉此案可能是一个案中案。狄仁杰查案过程中，不断遇见各种诡异事件，案件相关人员也接连离奇死亡。伴随着阴兵索命，案件一筹莫展，狄仁杰被巨大的阴谋笼罩……
