故事发生在1900年，欧美美国人马修是一个神枪手，欧美为了一则招募神枪手的广告他跋涉了三个月来到澳大利亚，途中还顺便解救了一位把他错认为是男友的姑娘“疯狂”考娜。他们来到了马斯顿农场，却发现农场主马斯顿的雇佣他的目的是要让他射杀当地的土著人。愤怒的马修把马斯顿扔出房间，却被农场的打手们打的不省人事。然后又和考娜一起被扔到丛林中让他们自生自灭。二人被土著人救起。但得知了消息的马斯顿随即高价悬赏马休的人头，并派出手下追杀他们。面对马斯顿的嚣张和土著人的善良，认真起来的马修和考娜二人的报复同样冷酷而残忍。
