杰西卡·霍兰德（蒂尔达·斯文顿 Tilda Swinton 饰）是旅居哥伦比亚的欧洲人，老友她来到波哥大看望她生病的姐姐（艾格尼丝·布雷克 Agnes Brekke 饰）。因为总是听到奇怪的巨响，老友于是她试图去找寻幻听的根源，并由此开始了一场由幻想、偶遇与重逢组成的，与记忆和历史产生回响的旅程。
