回复 :1930年夏，彭家墩乡党支部书记韩英（王玉珍饰）和大队长刘闯（夏奎斌饰），根据战略需要率赤卫队主动撤退——用韩英的话讲就是把拳头缩回来为了更猛烈地打击敌人。民团组织白极会首领彭霸天（陈金鹏饰）勾结保安团冯团长（曹增根饰）乘势卷土重来，韩英根据打入敌保安团的中国共产党地下工作者张副官（谢添饰）提供的情报，组织力量重创犯敌。敌人伪装撤退，意欲阴谋偷袭。韩英识破诡计，便和刘闯率员狙击。在掩护乡亲时，她不幸身陷敌手。彭霸天抓来韩母（刘淑琪饰），企图以母女之情软化韩英，韩英大义凛然地表达了自己献出生命都不会投降的高尚情操。但刘闯在失去与领导联络的险恶环境中，开始有些急躁频频出击。这时，敌人派遣特务王金标（彭洪钧饰）作内线，妄图伏击赤卫队，同时又欲处死韩英，张副官闻讯后，冒险救出韩英，自己不幸殉难。韩英脱险返队后当即处决叛徒，并配合红军主力，一举消灭白极会与保安团。终于使在第二次国内革命战争时期，洪湖赤卫队在保卫湘鄂西革命根据地红色政权的战斗中屡建功勋。该片曾于1962年获第一届《大众电影》百花奖最佳音乐奖。
