《耶稣基督：亚洲走出埃及》是《夜访吸血鬼》作者安妮·赖斯（Anne Rice）“耶稣基督系列”的第一部，亚洲讲述了7岁的耶稣和他的家人离开埃及回到拿撒勒，发现了自己出生的真相、以及自己的使命。还有第二部名叫《通往迦南的道路》（The Road To Cana），而第三部《天堂王国》（The Kingdom of Heaven）则还在创作当中。《耶稣基督：走出埃及》由克里斯·哥伦布（Chris Columbus）的1492影业和CJ娱乐公司制作，导演是曾执导过《被投石处死的索拉雅》（The Stoning of Soraya M）的赛勒斯·诺拉斯特（Cyrus Nowrasteh），而编剧则是赛勒斯·诺拉斯特和他妻子。

It is more memorable than Julien Duvivier's earlier silent version of 1925, also named Poil de Carotte.The part of Poil de Carotte was played by 11 year old Robert Lynen, who was alleged to have been discovered whilst walking down the Champs-Elysées in Paris. Lynen is totally captivating and the film made him an instant star, launching what looked like becoming a very promising film career – until he was shot dead whilst fighting against the Germans in 1944. Harry Baur, a legendary stage and film actor (who also died during World War II, allegedly at the hands of the Gestapo), also turns in a typically fine performance. The reconciliation between father and son at the end of the film provides its most enduring image, enough to melt the heart of all but the most stoical of spectators.
